Come 11am, i called him on his mobile but no answer...lost count of the number of times I called...desperation led me to msg our 2 other friends, to ask if they have his house number....called him but no one picks up too....boy I am worried....its 1130hrs...sigh....I try again....Phew, he picked up...lucky he was not bound for work otherwise he would be late...
btw Gan, u owe me a story...u told me you have a long story to tell...and it was supposed to be told after you woke up...keep your promise ok...
anyhow, still on the topic of wake up calls...my body clock is usually good but I sometimes rely on my handphone (it will snooze and snooze before I am officially awake) or my brothers (they will bang in my door...) or other wonderful people whose voices I long to hear...:P
As a duty manager, one of the cases I dislike to handle is of missed wake up calls...So far, I have handled one costly missed wake up call case. My trainee wrote down the wake up call timing on the departure time portion of the reg card and hence the wake up call was not placed and guessed missed his flight...It doesn't stop there, guest was on his way to sign an important business deal...the hotel ends up paying for the guest's flight...i think my trainee was traumatised big time...it happened on his birthday too...what a day to remember...sigh!
Got more interesting stories....when a wake up call is placed and not answered by guest, the Duty Manager will be notified and we will personally go up to the room to wake the guest up. I usually go up alone till one incident happened...Guest was stark naked!and the guest wasn't cute...lucky for me, I didn't get sore eyes after that...haha
I have guests who are still asleep and snoring loudly...still not waking up eventhough they were tapped gently...Me and my security officer will wet a towel and place it on the guest's hand...and they wake up, thank goodness....
Hmm...today, my trainee DM, Helmi worked 2 full shifts...Tanglin, on the afternoon shift had to take urgent leave...He is so sweet...he sms me to wake up so I could come in earlier...he purposely sms rather than call, so he won't disturb my sleep...Anyway, when I woke up and called back, he said go back to sleep as he will cover the shift.
When i reached work, I saw him sleeping at the desk...usually I will sit at where he was sleeping but I didn't have the heart to wake him up...so i let him take his power nap...but Faizal woke him up cos he needs the system...
Mi, I wish you a pleasant night rest...plus you deserved that extra day off...
