Yesterday, was my day off...woke up early to make my way to Jiemin Primary School in Yishun. I went alone...Gan seemed interested to go but he watched the Liverpool-AC Milan match with Jo...so I think he would prefer his beauty sleep instead...
Bringing the P2 kids to the zoo, helping out my teacher friend, Weiling...last week, followed them on Hippo and Duck tours...I enjoyed my time with the kids and was looking forward to another outing with them.
Haha, the kids loved me and I was warmly welcomed by them...saw the familiar faces...
This time the bus was punctual, set off as planned at 0815hrs...kids are noisy (like me) and they are attention seekers. Of course, I preferred the boys to the girls...haha...my favourite boy Hongshen, seems subdued this week...I wonder why...he is still my favourite though...hmm, was informed by Weiling, my teacher friend that he tried to strangle another kid from another class and was badly reprimanded...
I am still amazed by teachers...I had wanted to be one before...its a noble and meaningful job...moulding the future of our nation. I think its too late for me to switch careers now...or is it not? Hmmm....nice feeling...kids calling me teacher...haha...then they shall call me Ms Liah...nice...
I bought 3 books at the zoo...cheap cheap $4.50 in total...My Cousin AhMeng...about orangutans...another one about Rhinoceros..and another one about creepy crawlies...
Anyway, this time I observed the kids more...some are more prominent than others...some less...one of them was angry with me without even me realising it...Suddenly, Zainul was not speaking to me...and I dunno why...sekali it was because I overlooked letting him hold my camera and take pictures with it...kids sulk damn badly....was trying to win his favour back but it was difficult...sigh....then there was Nazrey....this boy is good looking but he was so quiet...I was trying my best to make him talk more but he is a boy of very few words, so i failed...Weiling told me that his older brother is like him too...
Wen Wei was more talkative this week than last...I think he seems comfortable talking to me in mandarin...
The girls...some worthy mentions...Xiao Wei is scared of the dark....she was crying when we passed somewhere dark...But i was there with her...was assuring her all is fine...another girl fell and grazed her knee and was crying...aiyoh...told them not to run already...sigh...but my patience was in place...so all was good....
Overall, the kids enjoyed themselves...I personally think it was too short....didn't see a lot of attractions...didn't even play at the Children's Zoo...We were back in school by 1300hrs...
Weiling treated me to Mee Rebus at the school canteen...food was cheap, haha...recalled those times when I was schooling...those were the days...After lunch I headed home, in a cab no less...weather scorching hot....
Had arranged to meet my Boyanese brother, Sadiq to watch Pirates...His lunch party at work dragged for a while. So while waiting, I browsed at Borders alone....that was a stretch for me...to be seen as alone...haha...bought 3 books: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert...Tall, dark and Handsome by...i forgot who...and the last book was titled Winning by Jack Welch...I also bought a monkey pen and a Wedding and Travel book...Weiling, I will pass to you the next time I see you...get ideas for your wedding...
Our boyanese sister, Norain joined later...her movie date had work to complete so 3 of us watched the movie together...we let Sadiq sit alone...Before the movie started, we walked around Heeren...saw a pushcart and was tempted to have a nose ring done...prior consultations with Zaine and Sadiq said I shouldn't cos I will look like a Minah...haha, but there's always a lil minah, mat, lian, beng in each of us....hmmph, anyway, still thinking whether I should have one done...
In the cinema, i SMS Sadiq to check if it was a beauty beside him...he said he was too shy to look....shy, my foot :P
Anyhow,Pirates 3 was so action packed...but I managed to fall asleep, i think tiredness overcame me...I will watch it another time...
